Google has now started labeling, a text under the URL, mobile-friendly websites in an effort to aid smartphone users to find sites that will render properly on their devices.
Web pages are qualified for the “mobile-friendly” tag if Google-bot detect that the pages does the following:
- Avoid use of Flash.
- Text is readable without zooming.
- A Web page size content to the screen so users don’t have to scroll horizontally or zoom.
- Links are placed far enough apart so that the correct one can be easily tapped, according to the post.
Not just this, Google is providing Webmasters with testing tools to ensure that their pages meet the mobile-friendly criteria. Google sees all this as a first step in helping mobile users to have a better mobile web experience. There is a lot more to come in the coming days!
